Promotability offer all our customers and equipment users training in the correct use of
Unwin Wheelchair and Passenger restraint systems.
a. Product Training
All passengers are owed a duty of care and it is important that members of staff and helpers should receive proper training before taking on the responsibility of wheelchair passengers. Transport providers also need to conduct brief but regular risk assessments.
Product Training is available to all users of Unwin equipments and is carried out on a regular basis at Promotability or at the customer premises.
The training session can comprise of a full product demonstration or can be tailored to individual requirements. The course usually lasts a full day and with a “hands on” format. A certificate of competence is issued on successful completion of the course. Please contact our Sales Office for further information.
b. Training DVD
The training DVD is the perfect training aid. The DVD has been produced to demonstrate to customers the correct way of using and fitting Unwin wheelchair and occupant restraint systems in a vehicle.
Copies of the training DVD can now be purchased from our Sales Office.
General Training Course
Consists of product explanation and practical demonstration in a classroom environment. Each participant is then required to repeat the exercise of fitting and using the chosen equipment to a proficient level.
The basic course will include:

Video / DVD introduction which shows the vital importance of wearing wheelchair and passenger restraints.
• Discussion of video and standards.
• Explanation of rail and seat fixtures in rail.
• 4-point webbing wheelchair restraint with karabiner.
• Derivatives in 4-point wheelchair restraints and options.
• Double inertia and Double Inertia Split Reel Passenger Restraints.
